Statement from New Orleans Saints on preseason game 3 vs. Arizona Cardinals

At the request of Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, the NFL and the New Orleans Saints announced Friday, Aug. 27 that due to the impending impact of Hurricane Ida on the Gulf Coast region that the team’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals has been canceled. The game, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 28 was moved to noon at the Caesars Superdome. Due to the intensification of the hurricane throughout the day and after the most recent tropical update, the team’s leadership has made the decision in the best interests of all personnel that may have been directly and indirectly affected by the storm. The announcement comes after constant communications with City of New Orleans officials, the National Weather Service, Homeland Security, Gov. Edwards and leading state officials and the National Football League. The team encourages all residents of the region to take precautionary measures to remain safe throughout the impending hurricane. The Saints will be in communication with season ticket account holders regarding applicable refunds and/or credits to their season ticket accounts.

When Winston was with the Bucs vs now with the Saints

… Left picture (Bucs) when he was in a unhealthy environment with unbalanced team vs Right picture (Saints) now in a healthy environment with balanced team. You can tell the difference in appearance which system is better and working for him instead of against him. Obviously Bucs system was the cancer in his career. The NFL will be shock and see a major change. Leave it up to Sean Payton and the Saints to get him right. It’s better to be a silent Tiger than a barking Pit bull. It’s hunting time and Winston hungry and ready to eat. Winston about to remind y’all why he was the 1st pick in the Draft. I don’t care what nobody say… Jameis will have a ball out season!!!! What do yall think ???

Charting every Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill pass from Saints practice #4

By Sean Fazende

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – If you like explosive plays, Monday’s practice was the one for you. The Saints quarterback’s looked well-rested after a day off, and were slinging it all over the field.

After a rough outing Saturday, Jameis Winston bounced back in a big way. Here’s a breakdown of every pass thrown.

Team Period #1 (heavy run)

In the only pass thrown by any quarterback in the entire period, Winston connected with Tre’Quan Smith on a comeback route.

Team Period #2

Winston opened the period with a misfire to Lil’Jordan Humphrey on a dig route. His next pass was a very close call. Winston appeared to get sacked on the play but also layered a throw nicely to Marquez Callaway on a deep over for a big gain.

Thank you Drew

After 20 years as a player in the NFL and 15 years as a Saint, it is time I retire from the game of football. Each day, I poured my heart & soul into being your Quarterback. Til the very end, I exhausted myself to give everything I had to the Saints organization, my team, and the great city of New Orleans. We shared some amazing moments together, many of which are emblazoned in our hearts and minds and will forever be a part of us. You have molded me, strengthened me, inspired me, and given me a lifetime of memories. My goal for the last 15 years was striving to give to you everything you had given to me and more.
I am only retiring from playing football, I am not retiring from New Orleans. This is not goodbye, rather a new beginning. Now my real life‘s work begins!

Thank you Morstead !

Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has terminated the contract of punter Thomas Morstead.

Morstead, 6-4, 235 pounds, spent the last 12 seasons in Black and Gold after being selected in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft out of SMU. A team captain since 2013, he made an immense contribution both on the field with the organization and with the local community.

Alvin Kamara will be there at Saturday’s NASCAR race — and so will the car he sponsored

A member of Ryan Vargas’ team had to stop the young NASCAR driver in his tracks this week to make sure he understood exactly what words just came out of his mouth.

Vargas had a photo of his No. 6 Chevrolet Camaro decked out in orange and red and purple with The Big Squeezy logos all over it. He off-handedly mentioned to nobody in particular that he was going to text the photo to New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara, who’d agreed to sponsor Vargas earlier in the week.
