Alvin Kamar the New Orleans Saint

Alvin Kamara the New Orleans Saint was a jolly happy soul
With a 41 on his chest and some Air-heads in his pockets..
Alvin Kamara the Saints player is a fairy tale they say
He signed a five-year contract extension before the season they say.
There must have been some magic in those shoes, cause
he scored 5 TD’s on Christmas Day.

After Further Review: Five takes from the Saints loss to Chiefs

The Chiefs possessed the ball for over 41 minutes. The Saints had it for under 19.

I couldn’t think of a worse formula for success than to give Patrick Mahomes, and that Kansas City offense, a 22-minute edge in time of possession.

After processing how this game went, it’s truly amazing that it was as close as it was. Usually that kind of disparity results in a thirty-point loss. The Saints made it a respectable three- point defeat.

They were able to hang in mainly because of the defense. They certainly weren’t perfect, but they gave the offense enough opportunities to stay in it. 32 points allowed on 92 Chiefs offensive plays isn’t a bad ratio.

The skewed possession numbers fall squarely on the shoulders of the offense. The Saints just couldn’t stay on the field. A team that prides themselves on third down only managed to convert one out of 11 tries. The lack of conversions led to a lack of plays which led to a lack of possessions.

Look no further than that as to why the Saints lost the game.

New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees set to start vs. Kansas City Chiefs; Michael Thomas ruled out

METAIRIE, La. — Drew Brees is set to return to the New Orleans Saints’ starting lineup in time for Sunday’s marquee matchup against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, according to coach Sean Payton.

Payton said Friday that the plan is for Brees to start Sunday.

“He’s looked good. He feels good,” Payton said. “We were encouraged at the start of the week. We wanted to see how it felt as he went through a full practice week, and he’s done a good job.”

The news wasn’t so good for star receiver Michael Thomas.

Thomas was ruled out Friday after not practicing all week due to a lingering ankle injury. Thomas had played through the injury since returning to the lineup in Week 9.

Sean Payton: Keeping Jameis Winston on sideline ‘constantly weighs in your mind’

Sean Payton’s decision to start Taysom Hill over Jameis Winston in relief of the injured Drew Brees raised a lot of eyebrows around the New Orleans Saints’ orbit. Winston, signed as a free agent this year, was the proven commodity with extensive starting experience. Hill was seen as an undeveloped athlete.

But it’s mostly worked out so far, with the Saints going 3-1 under Hill’s game management. That doesn’t mean the offense hasn’t had its ups and downs with Hill at the helm. Payton explained how they got here on a recent episode of the “Huddle and Flow” podcast with NFL analysts Steve Wyche and Jim Trotter, saying that this was an opportunity Hill had earned after years of hard work in New Orleans.
