TAMPA, Fla. — There were two sides to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday — the one who played before Taysom Hill’s blocked punt in the third quarter of a 28-14 win, and the one who played after.
Everything that happened before Hill changed the tide of the game pointed to the Saints clearly having lost what made them seem so special earlier this year. For the second straight week, their offense could best be described as moribund. Before Hill stormed through the line and made a leaping block of a Bryan Anger punt, New Orleans had five rushing yards and three points to its name.

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara can add another honor to his growing list of accolades.
Next week, Sports Illustrated will present him with the 2018 Breakout of the Year award at the magazine’s Sportsperson of the Year Awards Show.
The award ceremony will take place next Tuesday at the Beverly Hills Hilton in California, and the show will air next Thursday on NBCSN at 8 p.m.

Cameron Jordan said it. He wants a rematch. You can be sure anybody else associated with the New Orleans Saints would relish the chance.
If it happens, it will likely be in the playoffs and in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. There, the Saints should be considered strong favorites to avenge the 13-10 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys that bumped the Saints from the top spot in the NFC playoff picture.
However, there’s a long way to go.

1. Drew Brees picked a bad time for his third interception
A miscommunication between Brees and Alvin Kamara led to the game-clinching interception by Jourdan Lewis with 2:08 left and the Saints trying to march for a game-tying or winning score. It looked like an option route, and Kamara and Brees clearly weren’t on the same page. Brees had a Cowboy rusher in his face and had to unload the pass quickly, and Kamara broke his route outside and Brees’ pass fluttered into the waiting arms of a diving Lewis at the Saints’ 23-yard line. It was the kind of mix-up you rarely see from the Saints offense, which has been machine-like efficient this season. For all intents and purposes, the pick sealed the game. It was only Brees’ third interception of the season but it was his second in back-to-back games.
