New Orleans Saints defensive end Marcus Davenport will need season-ending surgery to repair an injury sustained to his foot, according to an NFL Network report.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport first reported the news Tuesday evening. Rapoport later reported that Davenport saw Dr. Robert Anderson, a foot expert based out of Green Bay who serves as the Packers’ assistant team physician, for a second opinion.
Davenport left Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth quarter with a non-contact injury.
Saints corner Marshon Lattimore (hamstring), KR/WR Deonte Harris (hamstring), and G Andrus Peat (forearm) did not practice on Wednesday. A tweet from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter states that Peat suffered a broken arm against the Falcons and is expected to be out 6 weeks.
