New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and his wife Brittany are expecting their second child, the quarterback revealed today while appearing as a guest speaker at the Ritz-Carlton’s quarterly hotel-wide meeting.
Brees said Brittany is 13 weeks pregnant, which would mean a due date around October. Their first child, son Baylen, was born on Brees’ 30th birthday on Jan. 15, 2009.

The New Orleans Saints enter the final hours of restricted free agency Thursday with a handful of players still unsigned, although none of them appear to be another team’s crosshairs
With the deadline for restricted free agent to sign offer sheets elsewhere coming at midnight Thursday, the Saints remain uncertain about the decisions of running back Pierre Thomas, guard Jahri Evans, wide receiver Lance Moore, safety Roman Harper, linebacker Marvin Mitchell and wide receiver Courtney Roby.

New Orleans Saints safety Usama Young will sign his one-year tender offer with the team Thursday, the deadline for restricted free agents to sign with another team.
His agent, Andy Simms, confirmed the player’s decision Wednesday afternoon.

New Orleans Saints restricted free agent left tackle Jammal Brown said he has not yet signed his qualifying offer from the Saints, and he is not planning to attend the team’s offseason conditioning program when it begins next Monday.
“I don’t consider it a holdout. I’m just patiently waiting,” said Brown, who was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this year before new league rules went into effect, making all free agents with less than six years of experience into restricted free agents.

The New Orleans Saints have re-signed restricted free agent tight end David Thomas.
Thomas, a 6-3, 248-pound four-year veteran tight end was acquired by the Saints in a trade with the New England Patriots at the close of the 2009 preseason and had his finest pro season to date, catching 35 passes for 356 yards and a touchdown in 15 games, starting eight. He also started two of the team’s three postseason games and caught four postseason passes for 41 yards en route to the team’s Super Bowl XLIV victory.
