New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees played with low-grade MCL sprain, Sean Payton confirms

New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton, speaking to reporters during Senior Bowl preparations in Mobile, Ala., on Monday confirmed that quarterback Drew Brees suffered a low-grade MCL sprain earlier in the season.

He said that there are many levels of severity with ligament injuries, and he declined to make comparisons to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who sat out the second half of the NFC championship game with a similar injury
